Special Birthday Gift.....

This was the Best Birthday I have ever celebrated. Besides the usual gifts that one gets, I was gifted a Special Gift by Rahul, my hubby.

He decided to treat me by hosting a Dinner Party, not only hosting but even by cooking the dinner for me and the few close friends invited for the party.

Rahul has share the responsibilities in the kitchen previously by cooking odd meals. But hosting a dinner party was a task he had never undertaken before. I kept pestering him about the menu and offering my assistance in cooking his surprise menu, however to no avail. I knew he will come up with some new dish for the party, but I advised him to cook something which is tried and tasted in the past instead of experimenting on the guests. My advice was partly granted and he decided to make Potato Noodle Bake which he had made earlier and was a delicious dish. But besides that dish I had no clue about the rest of the menu.

I observed him making list of ingredients he had to keep ready for the various dishes he was planning, and also saw him prepare things in advance the night before. And as per his plans, all dishes were almost ready by the afternoon only to be assembled and cooked when at their appropriate times in the evening when the guests arrive.

All in all, it was a fantastic party and all of us were treated to some nice creative dishes that exceeded all expectaitons.

Here are a few glimpses of the dishes Rahul has made. Detailed recepies coming soon in!!

Now you know why I call this as a Special B'day Gift. I will always cherish it!!!!!
